Resource Optimizationn for Circular Textile Products Manufacturing: How do we do it better?
One of our favorite projects came to the end at the end of summer. ROCTex: Resource Optimization for Circular Textile Products, a project funded by KYKLOS 4.0 brought us together with ZeroBelow, a niche brand for sustainable underwear and SUPERSTILE, a manufacturer-as-a-service in order to create a solution that could leverage the technologies developed in KYKLOS 4.0 for the digititalization of the textile industry and its transition to the circular economy.
The project was completed with a public event where we introduced the upcoming changes to the textile industry affecting businesses operating in the European market and an open invitation to anyone interested, to try our prototype solution for designing textile products and calculating their circularity index and their environmental footprint. Our solution allows small business to:
– increase their energy efficiency and their agility;
– reduce their waste during the product design and production processes;
– collect data and digitalize the product life cycle phases, in order to build and/or enrich its Digital Product Passport.
